Harvard dining chair by Eustis Chair

Harvard Mather House

University Dining Hall Chair

Harvard University chose Eustis Chair for their most recent renovation. Their brand new project tackled the Mather House Dining Hall in 2005. Harvard College looked at a dozen different chairs over the past 5 months for the first-ever renovation of the 35-year-old Mather House dining hall. Furthermore, the Jenkins Armchair was a late entrant, but it took the cake. Our Jenkins chair provided the perfect balance of contemporary elegance and comfort for their university dining hall chair. In addition, it was extremely important to Harvard to choose a chair that matched the venue. The Mather House is extremely traditional and elegant, therefore, the chair must be as well. However, the committee also desired a chair that would be comfortable enough to allow guests to seat for hours on end.

To top it off, the committee was sold by our unmatched patented joinery. In fact, we use steel rods in every chair to add stability. Also, we inject each chair with retrograde epoxy to reinforce the joints. Because of our superior joints, we guarantee a 20-year warranty against joint failure for any chair with a Eustis Joint. However, all of our chairs can last up to 50+ years without the need for replacement!
