Custom Fraternity Furniture: Built for Brotherhood, Built to Last

A fraternity house is more than a residence. It is the center of chapter life, where meals are shared, meetings are held, and traditions are carried forward year after year. The furniture that fills these spaces must work hard, match the architecture, and hold up to constant use without losing its integrity.

At Eustis Chair, we design and manufacture custom hardwood fraternity chairs and tables that balance durability, comfort, and timeless design. From fraternity dining rooms to chapter meeting spaces, every piece is built to support the daily rhythms and long-term legacy of Greek life.

Fraternity Project Spotlight: Alpha Tau Omega at the University of Texas

One example of this work can be found at Alpha Tau Omega at the University of Texas at Austin, where the chapter selected Eustis Chair to furnish its dining and gathering spaces.

The installation included:

-93 Merrimac stacking armchairs

-1 chair transporter for efficient storage

-12 rectangular dining tables crafted in solid European Beech

The project was completed with design support from PDR Interiors, an award-winning firm known for its work in higher education and Greek housing environments.

The Merrimac Chair: Elegant, Stackable, and Engineered for High Use

The Merrimac Chair is a refined hardwood armchair with gracefully curved back posts and a profile that feels equally at home in formal dining rooms and everyday fraternity settings. Its ability to stack up to ten chairs high makes it especially well-suited for chapter houses that host frequent events and need efficient storage.

Each Merrimac Chair is reinforced with the Eustis Joint®, our proprietary construction method that uses concealed steel rods and high-strength epoxy to reinforce critical joints. With a 20-year warranty against joint failure, these chairs are designed to remain stable, comfortable, and visually consistent through decades of chapter life.

Fraternity Tables Designed to Endure

In addition to seating, Alpha Tau Omega selected rectangular dining tables in solid European Beech, engineered to meet the same standards of durability as our chairs.

These tables feature our proprietary table leg plate system, with steel-reinforced plates permanently attached to the ends of the table legs. This system allows the legs to remain securely fastened to the tabletop using as few as four bolts, creating exceptional rigidity while still allowing the tables to be easily disassembled and stored when needed.

Because the engineering follows the same principles as the Eustis Joint®, we offer a 20-year warranty on our tables as well. For fraternity houses that host large dinners, meetings, and alumni gatherings, this combination of strength and flexibility is essential.

Why Fraternities Choose Eustis Chair

Fraternity houses experience constant activity. Chairs are moved daily, stacked for events, and used by generations of members. That level of use demands furniture designed for institutional performance rather than short-term residential solutions.

Fraternities choose Eustis Chair for:

-Solid hardwood construction built for high-use environments

-Stackable designs that support flexible dining and event spaces

-Custom finishes and proportions that respect the character of the house

-American-made manufacturing with consistent quality control

-Sustainable materials aligned with long-term stewardship

Made in the USA, Built with Purpose

All Eustis Chair products are manufactured in the United States using sustainably harvested North American hardwoods in our FSC-certified facility. We believe sustainability begins with longevity. Furniture that lasts for decades reduces waste, preserves resources, and becomes part of an institution’s story rather than a recurring replacement item.

For fraternities, this approach aligns naturally with values of responsibility, continuity, and pride in place.

A Long-Term Investment in Chapter Life

The Alpha Tau Omega installation at the University of Texas illustrates how thoughtful furniture choices support fraternity life over time. Chairs and tables do more than fill a room. They frame shared meals, chapter meetings, and moments that members remember long after graduation.

When you invest in custom fraternity furniture from Eustis Chair, you are choosing craftsmanship, engineering, and materials designed to serve your chapter well into the future.

If you have questions about this project or would like to explore seating and tables for your own fraternity house, our team is always glad to help.
